Explanation for Question 50 From the Reading Section on the 2021 March Sat
All right. Question 50 on which point about free floating Jupiter, 2 mass planets to the passages, and most clearly disagree. 3 So remember from the previous question, 4 I believe that was question number 45. 5 We talked about how passage two was meant to count how many big free-floating 6 planets exist. Um, passage one set out to do the same thing, 7 and they arrived at different estimates for that amount. 8 So that's going to be the area where they disagreed most clearly. 9 Um, when we look at our answer choices, that's going to be answered twice 10 B how many free-floating Jupiter, 11 mass planets. There are. That's what they most directly disagree on. 12 It's her choice. I, whether there are free floating Jupiter, 13 mass planets makes it sound like they dispute. 14 Whether these exist, both established that they exist. 15 Both try to count how many there are. 16 So they clearly both recognize the existence of these planets twice. 17 See whether they can distort and focus light. 18 Um, this is not a major point of disagreement. 19 This distort and focus light is the technique that's used by the second passage, 20 but it's not something that's ever disagreed with or agreed with in passage one. 21 And to answer choice D how similar brown dwarfs are to Jupiter, 22 mass planets, brown dwarfs are only discussed and the very under passage too. 23 They're really not a major focus of either passage. 24 So it's not really a place of clear disagreement. 25 We want to select answer choice B. They have different estimates for how many 26 of these planets there actually are.
