Explanation for Question 23 From the Writing Section on the 2020 March Sat

So looking at question 23, our correct answer is D decided. 2 And the reason being the answer choice D is the least repetitive and gets 3 to the point the fastest. If we look at our sense, 4 it says, considering her options after graduation college student Shantia Dyson 5 thought about what she might do and decided that she wanted to use her 6 skills. And if we look closely at this, 7 we can see that thought about what she might do and decided are kind 8 of saying the same thing, right? Because if someone makes a decision, 9 then that implies that they have thought through their options, 10 right? So we don't need to say that she thought about what she might 11 do because that's repetitive. So a is repetitive and B does 12 the same thing. It makes the same mistake because we've said mold over and 13 decided which both, um, mean the same thing. 14 Right? If she decided that we know she thought about it and we know 15 that she molded over and see again, 16 has the same mistake is a and B, right? 17 It's still repetitive because making a choice in deciding are the same thing. 18 And so the only answer that is not repetitive is answer choice D so 19 that is our correct answer.
