SAT Prep Tutoring in Washington DC

SoFlo SAT Tutoring

Our Washington D.C. office is located in the Georgetown neighborhood across the street from Georgetown University, the alma mater of our founder Adam. Adam opened up a SoFlo location in D.C. in order to attract and train exceptional graduates from Georgetown. The experiment proved a success and 8 Hoyas are now part of the SoFlo family.

Our District of Columbia office is primarily for tutor training and curriculum development. We focus on hiring friendly and smart tutors who are then trained to be masters of the SAT and ACT.

From our Washington office we offer Zoom and in-home tutoring to families in the DMV. Our tutors can walk down the block to tutor a student who lives within the neighborhood (which conventionally has happened a few times), or will travel to Maryland and Virginia to meet with a student. Most of our students choose to tutor remotely via Zoom.

Local Knowledge:

As DC residents we are familiar with the requirements for colleges in Virginia and Maryland. We understand what SAT score and GPA it takes to get into UVA or UMD and can advise students accordingly. We also understand the unique challenges of being a DC student who does not have access to a public university system.

SoFlo also understands the local high schools and we have worked with students from Thomas Jefferson Magnet, Sidwell Friends, National Cathedral School, St. Albans, The Potomac School, Georgetown Day School, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Charles E. Smith, Gonzaga, and others that we love but don't have space to name.

World Class Expertise:

We are proud to be exceptional tutors. Our founder Adam Shlomi went to Georgetown University, scored a 1570/1600, and has been tutoring for the last 5 years. Our tutors have similar backgrounds. All of our teachers went to top schools, crushed the SAT, and are young enough to relate to our students. The last tutor we hired, John Zarrilli, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton. We understand the pressures of being a student studying for the SAT and are able to empathize and connect with our students.

We are proud of our work. On average our students improves 110 points after 10 sessions, but we encourage you to do your own research and read our reviews.
