Explanation for Question 6 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 8
So question six gives us a system of any qualities, 2 right? And it asks us which of the following consists of the Y coordinates 3 of all the points that satisfied the systems of inequalities. 4 So this is a really wordy a long-winded question, 5 but if we look at the answer choices, right, we can see that they 6 just want to know what, why is all they're asking us to do is 7 to solve for Y. 8 And so what I can see here is that I have two equations I 9 want to solve for Y. So what I can do is I can take 10 this bottom equation and solve it for X, 11 right? But two X is greater than five. 12 I can divide both sides by two and get the X is greater than 13 2.5. And I can take that and I can plug 14 it into the X in my top equation. 15 So now I have, Y is greater than two, 16 but instead of writing X I'll write 2.5 minus 17 one. Now when I do two times 2.5, 18 I'll get five. And I keep the minus one and five minus one is 19 four, right? So Y needs to be greater than four. 20 So our best answer is B.
