Explanation for Question 32 From the Math (Calc) Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 3
Now a number 32, we are trying to find the mean age that the 2 president started their term at. And if we're looking for the mean of something 3 or the average of something, you need to take your number of terms, 4 right. And put that underneath the sum of all your numbers. 5 Now we see here that there are going to be 12 numbers because there 6 were 12 presidents, right? So we're dividing by 12. 7 And if you add all of these numbers together, all of their ages, 8 you'll get 703, right. 9 And when we do 703 divided by 12, 10 you get 58.5, eight, 11 three. Um, but we're told to round to the nearest 10th, 12 right? So we have this five we see afterwards there's an eight, 13 the eight is greater than five, which means we round up. 14 So our final answer then is going to be 58.6.
