Explanation for Question 3 From the Math (Calc) Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 3

So for number three, we're looking at a graph of the sales of albums, 2 right? Sales here on the Y axis and important to note that it's happening 3 in millions, right? Millions of albums. 4 So quite a large unit. And then on the Y or X axis, 5 we have years since 1997. 6 And so the way you read a graph like this with the year since, 7 um, it just shows that night or zero would be 19 97, 1 8 would be 1998. 9 So you just go up a year or the number of years that you 10 see on the X axis is up from 97. 11 So three would be, you know, 2000 here. 12 And so we're really asked about a general trend, 13 um, for, for this line. 14 And so we can immediately look at a and B, 15 right? And these two are not going to be correct because they don't take 16 into account the entire graph. 17 Um, if we look at a, it says we generally increased each year. 18 Now there is a point where we increase on the graph, 19 right? In these first couple, two to three years, 20 we see a general increase. But after that, 21 there's a general decrease, right. Everything seems to be going down. 22 So we can't describe that orange part of the graph with answer choice a 23 so a doesn't work for the orange part and B kind of does the 24 same thing, but opposite B says we generally decreased, 25 which works for the orange part, right? That looks like a general decrease, 26 but it doesn't work for the yellow part because that's, 27 you know, an obvious increase in those first couple of years. 28 So B also leaves out...
