Explanation for Question 43 From the Writing Section on the 2021 May Sat (International)

Hey guys. So question 43 is gonna be having us deal with a plural 2 versus singular. So in figure out in the sentence, 3 what are we talking about when we're using the word continue and show use 4 plural or singular a words for remember that, 5 uh, continue would be for a group like they continue. 6 Um, whereas a singular, singular person, 7 we would say he continues. 8 He would add the S four singular. 9 Now it's the same thing with has like, 10 has his, for he has, versus they have, 11 and, um, 12 is, would be, he is, 13 um, versus they are so already, 14 you can see that all of these option has, 15 is, and, uh, 16 continues are all for similar. 17 So if these all work for singular, that it seems like, 18 uh, multiple answers can't be right. So we need to go with what's right 19 for plural. And, um, 20 we can see that this is talking about things that are plural, because it 21 says structures such as this building completed in this year, 22 continue to pay homage, uh, 23 to the person who, uh, heralded the modern age of the skyscraper. 24 So even though it says, even though in-between, it's talking about, 25 um, this 163, 4 skyscape, 26 which seems like an individual item with, is they're saying, 27 is that structures continue to pay homage? 28 Um, whereas, 29 you know, we might be confused. I was like, oh, wait, aren't we talking 30 about this specifically? But no, this is where it starting, 31 even though it's saying like, like if I said, 32 um, dogs such as Stacey, 33 um, are, uh, uh, 34 are going to run around, um, we wouldn't say dogs such as Stacy are, 35 um, like runs around because we're not just talking about Stacey, 36 we're talking about dogs, even though we're specifying something after the fact, 37 the main thing we're still talking about here is structures, 38 uh, which is plural. So we're going to use structures, 39 continue to pay homage where other as structures continues because we're, 40 this is a plural item. Um, so we need to use continue.
