Explanation for Question 6 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2020 October Sat
So question number six asks us for an appropriate little linear model for the 2 data given. So what they're asking for is if this data was aligned, 3 which line is closest to the equation that we'd want. 4 So all we have to do first is draw a line through the data. 5 So this line is a little, there we go with much better. 6 So when we're looking at line, we need to think about two things, 7 the Y intercept and the slope. And if we look at the Y intercept 8 here, we're crossing the y-axis, it's seven. 9 Now a and B have just a negative seven. 10 So they have Y intercepts of negative seven, 11 which make them wrong. Cause we want a positive seven. 12 So now we have to think about the slope. We can see here that 13 our slope is going downwards, 14 right? So it's going to have a negative slope and between C and D 15 the only answer with a negative slope is D so our best answer will 16 be D.
