Explanation for Question 3 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2020 October Sat
So question number three gives us a nice table of data about albedo and 2 then it asks us which of the following ranges has, 3 or which of the following surfaces has the greatest range of Alameda. 4 And so it's important to see that we're asking about range. 5 And if you read the question carefully, you'll see this, 6 if not, maybe you read too fast and you pick a different number, 7 um, that doesn't have to do with range, but range of things. 8 We want to pick the surface that has the greatest difference between the minimum 9 albido and the maximum albedo. And if we look at these, 10 we see that snow is just a little bit bigger than 0.4 and everything 11 else is around 0.1 or less. 12 So snow is much bigger range than the other ones. 13 The difference between men and max is very large. 14 And so our correct answer is going to be the snow.
