[Video] Q16: 3x+y= 29x=2if (x,y) is the solution to the given system of the equations, what is the value of y?

Explanation for Question 16 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2019 May Sat

So question 16 says if X, 2 Y is the solution to the given system of equations, 3 what is the value of Y? Now they already told us that X is 4 equal to two. So we have the value of one of the variables. 5 So all we need to do is plug that in and solve for Y. 6 So we're going to plug that into the top equation and do three times 7 two plus Y is equal to 29. 8 That gives us six plus Y is equal to 29, 9 and then we can subtract six from both sides and we get Y is 10 equal to 23. And that's your final answer for question 16.
