So question 35 says the histogram summarizes the distribution of 2 a dataset composed of 50 integers. 3 The first bar represents the number of integers that are at least zero, 4 but less than five. The second bar represents the number of integers that are 5 at least five, but less than 10 and so on. 6 And it asks what is a possible value of the median of the dataset? 7 Well, we know that to calculate the median, 8 all we need to do is define the number that lies directly in the 9 center of the dataset. So imagine writing out every single number 10 in the data set, if you crossed out one at a time from each 11 side and kept going until there was only one number left, 12 that would be the median. So all we have to do here is, 13 uh, eliminate into jurors from both sides of equal value. 14 So there are 12 integers between zero and five. 15 So I'm going to eliminate this bar and then I'm going to eliminate 16 this eight and this four, 17 and now I've done 12 from both sides. And I'm going to keep doing 18 this eliminating the same number of integers from both sides until I find the 19 middle value. So if I take nine away from this side, 20 I have to do the same here. So 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. 21 So now I know that the meaning has to be somewhere in this column 22 or in this bar. Um, and since these numbers are between 10 and 15, 23 that means that a possible value of the median of the dataset is any 24 number between 10 and 15. So I'm just going to choose 12, 25 but your answer might be a little different as long as it's between 10 26 and 15. It's correct.
