Question number 35 is assessing our knowledge of parallel structure. 2 So we like to use parallel structure or sort of following the same template, 3 the same format of our subject and verb, 4 um, in repeating lines in order to just create this field of consistency 5 for the reader, um, and just generally make our sentence as clear 6 and easily readable as possible. So when we put things in parallel, 7 we want to make sure that the verb is sort of in the same 8 tense so that, um, the sentence flows together nicely. 9 And the relationship between all of those, 10 either items in a list or, 11 um, different, um, 12 clauses separated by a comma or whatever the case might be, 13 that their relationship is clear. So taking a look at our, 14 our sentence here, um, we see that zookeepers spend much of their time performing 15 activities that do not involve contact with animals, 16 cleaning cages, preparing food, 17 and they also conduct educational programs to name a few. 18 So we want to put this detail about conducting educational programs in 19 the same format that we see earlier with cleaning cages and preparing 20 food.
