Question five says for the function as defined above, 2 what is the value of F of negative one that whatever you're asked, 3 what the value of F of something in parentheses is, 4 what you have to do is take this number in the parentheses and plug 5 it in for X in your original equation, 6 which is up here. So let's do that. 7 So this becomes negative one cubed plus three times 8 negative one squared plus negative six times 9 negative one plus negative one. 10 And then we just have to simplify negative one. 11 Cube is just positive. One negative one squared, 12 or I'm sorry is negative one negative one squared is positive. 13 One times three is just positive. Three negative six times. 14 Negative one is positive six and then negative one just stays the same. 15 This becomes nine minus two, 16 and the answer is seven. 17 And so the answer is C.
