[Video] Q19: 4x - 5y = 2the graph of the equation above in the xy-plane is a line. what is the x-coordinate of the x-intercept of the line?

Explanation for Question 19 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2019 April Sat

For a number 19, we are given the graph of the equation and the 2 X, Y plane. And we are looking for the X coordinate of the X 3 intercept of the line. So basically, what is the X intercept? 4 If you think about it, visually an X intercept happens 5 on the X axis where Y is equal to zero. 6 So we can find the X intercept of this line by plugging in zero 7 for Y. So that means four X minus five 8 times zero is equal to two, 9 and now we can solve for this X. 10 And that will be the X intercept. Five times zero is just 11 zero. So that will go away. 12 So that leaves us with four X is equal to two. 13 And then if you divide both sides by four, 14 that gives you X is equal to two fourths, 15 which is one half.
