Question number 11, uh, starting off our second passage asks us 2 about the main purpose of the passage. 3 So let's go back and recap this passage. 4 Before we take a look at our answer choices. This passage provides us with 5 a pretty thorough overview of the work done by 6 this particular scientist. 7 Um, we see that her goal was to figure out how the brain operates 8 depending on whether it is exposed to a situation that is real versus one 9 that's entirely fictional. So she designed this experiment to explore the 10 brain's reactions. Um, 11 then the passage goes on to describe for us exactly how this work was 12 carried out. Um, what happened with the participants and the finding 13 was that there was certain brain activity that was common to both types of 14 situations, but there was also some pretty key differences, 15 um, particularly when exposed to, 16 um, situations involving real people. 17 Um, we see that there was more of a focus on the parts of 18 the brain that pertained to autobiographical biographical, 19 memory retrieval and separate self-referential thinking. 20 Whereas with fictional characters, 21 um, there was more, 22 more activity in parts of the brain that are linked to language processing. 23 Um, so there's an idea that the difference has to do with relevance 24 to reality rather than the degree of realness. 25 Um, and then a further experiment is done this time, 26 separating out different, um, 27 different cases where the relevant person is of 28 ...
