Um, 8 while, um, you know, she walked the dog, 9 um, those two cars while, while needs to show a contrast, 10 those are ways to properly connect those two. 11 Now in this sentence, it says, um, 12 the Macintosh power plant can produce up to 110 megawatts of electrical power, 13 independent clause. And it says the German plant can produce 321 megawatts. 14 The problem is option a no change is just connecting me with a comma, 15 but not the comment and conjunction. 16 And we need that conjunction in here to make this work properly. 17 So that's going to be wrong. Now, 18 option D is connecting them with a semi-colon semi-colon can only come in between, 19 um, two independent clauses that are, 20 um, two independent clauses. 21 The problem is this adds the word wow to it. 22 So if I said, while the German plant can produce 320 megawatts, 23 the problem is that while now makes us a dependent clause because the wild 24 needs that mean that it's contrasting a larger sentence that makes it dependent, 25 meaning it's not an independent clause on its own. 26 So it needs to be connected with a comma.
