[Video] Q5: Which choices provides the best evidence for the answer to the previous question?

Explanation for Question 5 From the Reading Section on the 2017 April Sat

For question number five, we are looking for evidence for question number four, 2 question number four, asks us what the character's behavior during the gift-giving 3 serves to accomplish and recall that we selected answer choice B here, 4 inflating the significance of the gesture. So our best evidence that the gestures 5 kind of being overinflated for call is at the end of 6 this paragraph, where they talk about how the characters are fussing over this gift 7 and how they importantly created the illusion that it was something, 8 um, and this speaks to how their actions actually made the gift kind of 9 more valuable in a sense, because they're both acting with the 10 notion that this gift is so important. 11 It's so valuable. So that's our best answer. 12 That's in line 45. 13 So we'll look for which answer choice includes line 45. 14 That's going to be lines 44 to 46 or answer choice B um, 15 the other answer choices, although they're sort of related, 16 they're occurring in the same kind of general part of the passage, 17 this is the one that really speaks to the effect of their behaviors, 18 rather than just describing the behaviors themselves or sort of introducing or concluding 19 this little portion of the paragraph. 20 So we really want to focus on the part of the paragraph that explains 21 our actions and what the effect of it was. So for that reason lines, 22 44 to 46 is our best answer.
