Question number four asks us the characters behavior during the gift giving exchange 2 mainly serves too. So let's take a look at where the gift giving 3 takes place, um, in this second column of the passage. 4 Um, and I remember at the end of this paragraph, 5 we see the line. Um, it was nothing of course, 6 but they fussed and fussed and created the illusion that it was something, 7 something unique and on tasted and unencumbered. 8 So we see that this dialogue they're kind of, 9 they're acting as if, um, this gift is of much greater significance than it 10 is an acting as if the gift is much more special than it really 11 is. And in doing so, they're kind of imbuing this gift giving with additional 12 meaning and they're making it more important. Um, 13 they're acting like they're, they're exchanging a diamond. 14 Remember that's the comparison that's being made. 15 So, um, the gift giver is saying that they're acting as if they refuse 16 to be overawed by their own generosity. 17 So they're really inflating the magnitude of, 18 um, how special this gift really is. 19 So when you look at our answer choices, choice, 20 ISS emphasize the lavish value of the gift. 21 Um, we can eliminate this choice because the gift actually isn't that valuable in 22 terms of what it actually is.
