Question number 40 asks which statement best expresses Henrys and Pendleton's 2 respective views of the Confederation. 3 So we've kind of covered in previous videos. 4 What Pendleton's views were, um, 5 recall that Pendleton felt that it was no government at all, 6 and that it was not the Confederation that was responsible for carrying America through 7 a difficult period in its history. Um, 8 let's return to Henry's passage to see what his review of the Confederation was. 9 Um, Henry remember believed that, 10 um, the federal convention ought to have amended the old system. 11 That was the purpose that they were delegated. 12 Um, and he says the danger of the new government is very striking. 13 So he very much feels that the, 14 um, authors of this new constitution document should have worked with the old 15 system rather than trying to create a new form of government. 16 So a Henry felt it was flawed correctable while Pendleton felt that it had 17 served no useful purpose is exactly correct. 18 Henry wanted it to be corrected.
