Explanation for Question 28 From the Reading Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 7
Question 28 asks which choice provides the best evidence for the answer to the 2 previous question. And so we determined in an earlier video that the correct answer 3 to question 27 is going to be answered choice C that the author 4 implies a Pelican storks in geese, flying in a B formation create a similar 5 weight to that of irises. So let's look at the lines of evidence given 6 to us as answer choices in question 28 and see which one best 7 support set. So we're looking for any reference to a comparison between wakes. 8 So we'll start with the first answer, choice lines, 9 35 through 38. They say when a bird flew directly behind another, 10 the timing of the flapping reversed so that it could minimize the effects of 11 downdraft coming off the back of the bird's body. 12 So in this case, we don't see any direct reference to comparing the wakes 13 of different birds. 14 And at this point in the passage, these kinds of birds, 15 the geese storks and pelicans haven't been mentioned yet. 16 So answer choice a would be incorrect. 17 If we look at answer choice B, it says smaller birds create more complex 18 wakes that would make drafting too difficult. So here we see that direct reference 19 to the comparison of wakes, and it also comes directly after the first mention 20 of Pelican sorts and geese. So answer choice B looks like a pretty good 21 answer, but we'll check C and D just to make sure neither of those 22 is better. C says previous study, 23 as previous studies estimat...
