Explanation for Question 6 From the Writing Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 4

Now a number six, we're looking at verb tense here. 2 Right? We see the a is an ING verb. 3 B is a past tense, sees a present tense and D is also a 4 different type of past tense. And so to do a question like this, 5 what we need to do is look through a sentence and see what other 6 tenses are verbs are written in. Right? 7 And so we have the centerpiece of the work was dominated by images of 8 people being oppressed and blank and Eagle 9 symbolizing the United States. Right. And so we see two things here. 10 Um, we see a was dominated and we see people being 11 right. So the question is, okay, so it has to be either past tense 12 or an ING. So a as possible see is not good. 13 Um, and maybe the as possible. 14 Um, and so now our question is what, 15 what are we going to use here? 16 Is it the ING? Is it a, and the answer is no, 17 it's not going to be a, because the being was talking about the people, 18 not the centerpiece, right?
