Explanation for Question 7 From the Math (Calc) Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 4
Now we're looking at question number seven, 2 right? Which says that the table above represents the 50 movies. 3 So we're looking at total of 50 movies, which we see right here that 4 had the greatest ticket sales in 2012, 5 categorized by movie type. So right here at the top and then M M 6 P a rating on the, on the side here. 7 And so what proportion of movies are comedies with a PG 13 8 rating? Right? So we want the proportion of all the movies, 9 the movies that were comedies that were also PG 13. 10 So one thing that we need to do first is figure out where are 11 the comedies that are PG 13, right? 12 So here are the comedies altogether, 13 and then the PG 13 or right here. So there were four comedies that 14 were PG 13 and those four were coming out of a 15 total of 50, right? Because we're just looking for the portion of the movies. 16 So pretty much the proportion of all movies right now, 17 four out of 50, we can simplify that by dividing our numerator and our 18 denominators by two, giving us 20 hooks, 19 not 22, 20 right. Two out of 25, 21 which is right here as answer choice a.
