Explanation for Question 25 From the Writing Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 3
That question 25 appears to be a word choice question. 2 Right. And it's telling us that one MCP keeps apples blank and crisp. 3 And so we need to figure out, okay, how do we describe apples? 4 And you want to describe an apple is tight, 5 right? Because an apple is just an object. 6 And so you wouldn't describe, you know, like a physical object, 7 you could pick up like a mug as being tight. Um, 8 and so a isn't going to make any sense. 9 You also wouldn't describe it as being taught because taught is when you have 10 kind of like a fabric or paper and you stretch it. 11 So that it's really, um, not, 12 you know, bendy and movie, it's not very flexible. 13 It's really straight. And you don't really stretch an apple like that so tall, 14 it doesn't make any sense either. Right? And so our question is, 15 should we call an apple from or stiff? 16 And so we should call an apple from, because that means, 17 you know, when you press on the apple, it's not squishy. 18 It doesn't give, it kind of stays where it is. 19 Um, but to call an apple stiff, 20 doesn't make any, doesn't make as much sense. 21 It sounds a little bit odd. Um, because something that stiff is kind of 22 like stuck in one position and we don't really refer to an apple as 23 being, you know, like stuck and uptight in a position. 24 Um, and so our best answer then is going to be beat. We would 25 describe the apple as being from.
