[Video] Q20: Question 20 from the math (calc) section of official sat practice test 10

Explanation for Question 20 From the Math (Calc) Section on the Official Sat Practice Test 10

So now we're looking at question number 20, which says that the maximum value 2 of a dataset consisting of 25 positive integers is 84. 3 So we've got a maximum value, the highest value, 4 and that's 84. And then it tells us that a new dataset consisting of 5 26 positive integers is created including a 20 and 96 6 and the original set. So the first data set was about this big right 7 25 and it had the highest value. 8 The max value was 84, but then we get a new dataset, 9 right? And it's got 26 values. So it's one bigger and its largest value 10 is 96 96, 11 which of the following measures must be 12 greater for the new dataset 12 than the original data set. Right. 13 And notice that it says that this 14 newer data set, the second data set also includes the numbers in the original 15 dataset. So all of this that I've highlighted in pink here is 16 the same between both sets. 17 The second one just has an additional 96. 18 All right. And where we're trying to figure out what is 12 grader and 19 perhaps the easiest place to go to look at this problem is between these 20 two numbers, right? Let's say, 21 for example, the lowest value was zero. 22 This is just an example, right? You can say it's two, 23 you could say it's five, but for the sake of ease, 24 let's call it zero. And let's find the range of one, 25 right? This'll be dataset one. The range would be a four minus zero, 26 which is 84. And the range of two would 27 be 96, the new highest value minus zero, 28 which is equa...
