Explanation for Question 26 From the Writing Section on the 2021 May Sat (International)

Hey guys. So the question 26 is going to be having us properly matching 2 our nouns in regards to our pronouns. 3 So what we see in this question is it says the product was necessary 4 for those who think of blink as green. 5 And then it says, you know, there's, Charlie's the only good. 6 So for consumers, one of the messaging again, blah, 7 blah, blah. Um, what we don't need to really pay attention to here is 8 most of this other part of the sentence we should to figure out who 9 is thinking of blink, 10 um, and use it, figure out, excuse me, 11 one second. Sorry. 12 There's a firetruck on mine. So to figure out who are we talking about 13 here? Well, the sentence starts off by saying one message proclaimed that the 14 product was necessary for those who think of blink as green. 15 Now we're not talking about one message here. 16 We're talking about those who think of blink as green, 17 so you can match like, how are we doing? What kind of language are 18 we using here? Well, those goes with something like them. 19 If it said for, um, like our, 20 for ourself who thinks of ourselves as green, 21 that might work. We're not saying that. So we can't, 22 we can't go with option a, um, option D says oneself. 23 So the outro, they said the product was necessary. 24 Ones who think of oneself, a screen or someone who thinks of oneself, 25 a screen, um, that might work, but that's not what it says there. 26 So himself or herself, again, as soon, 27 the same thing, if this said for, 28 you know, men or women, we think of himself or herself, 29 a screen that might work. But since we're using just those a very general 30 non-gender group, we'd use themselves another non-gender group to refer 31 to this.
