Explanation for Question 8 From the Writing Section on the 2021 May Sat (International)

Hey guys. So question eight is gonna be dealing with proper use of commas 2 when it comes to a list. So this question reads, 3 in addition to museum, installments, Ono has provided instructions for schools, 4 comma blank that are interested in creating their own wish trees, 5 further expanding the interactivity of the project. 6 So our answer choices are going to be dealing with listing other things. 7 First it's a schools, and then it's going to say workplaces and communities. 8 Um, now what we need to do when we're listing items, 9 the first thing is I need to use our commas in the right place, 10 and we need to have a comma after each item. 11 Um, and, um, before generally, 12 uh, before the second to last item, 13 that's known as the Oxford common, there is some debate about use of that 14 comment, but on the sat, it's usually going to be like, 15 um, it's going to be like one, 16 two and three. 17 Um, so we also need to make sure that all our items and lists 18 are in the same tense. So you don't want to say, 19 um, schools and, 20 um, like example here and working and communities. 21 We want to say schools, places, 22 you know, places of work and communities. 23 So, um, our answer choices of chocolate from the bottom, 24 it says schools, uh, start with D it says, 25 provide instructions for schools, comma, workplaces, 26 comma in to be a community that are interested. 27 See, and to be, to be a community is going into different tents, 28 which you need to name the specific places. We didn't name a school or 29 workplace and a community option B says at work and people in communities. 30 This again is saying people in communities and it's getting away from the actual 31 locations of our schools and communities. 32 Um, B has working and in communities and communities is right here. 33 Now it's saying, working, which it's not working, 34 it's workplaces wanting to make them all locations to make it similar. 35 So option a, the no change option is gonna be.
