[Video] Q3: The function f is defined by f(x)=3^x. what is the value of f(2)?

Explanation for Question 3 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2020 October Sat

So question three gives us the function F of X is equal to three 2 race. So the X power, and they want to know the function of F 3 of two. So if F of X is equal to three race to the 4 X, and we're told that we want as of two, 5 then that means that everywhere there's an X in this equation, 6 we're going to plug it two in instead. So there was an X right 7 here, right. And that becomes a two, which we can see in the question. 8 And then there's another X in the equation right here. 9 And so that will become a two. So what we're actually doing here is 10 three squared, right? F of two is equal to three times three. 11 We're going to multiply three by itself twice and that'll give us nine. 12 So our correct answer is D.
