[Video] Q25: What is the median of the data set summarized in the frequency table?

Explanation for Question 25 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2020 October Sat

So question number 25 is asking us what the meeting is of the data 2 in the table, and the best way to find the median is going to 3 be defined the middle value. And the first thing that we have to know 4 is what this frequency column means. And the frequency column means the number of 5 times we have this value. 6 So, right. A frequency of four means that the number two shows up four 7 times. So as you can see here, I've written in my list of numbers 8 four times. And so once I've used my frequencies to actually 9 list out all my numbers and how many times they occur, 10 we can just work from left to right, to find the exact middle number. 11 So I go back three here and then back three here, 12 back three here, back three here, 13 back three back to back to, 14 we see that I land on a median of four. 15 So our correct answer is going to be C you could also look at 16 this without drawing out all the members. This is probably the faster way. 17 If you look here, you know, that there's seven fives, right? 18 So if you do this, it's like crossing off seven values from 19 the right side. But that also means that you need to cross off seven 20 values from the left side. You see here, 21 you have one, one, and then you have four, 22 two. So this is like crossing off five. 23 If you cross off all the one through three, 24 then you have seven cross off all those, 25 and then you still land on a median of four, 26 right, right there. 27 So you can do it by looking at the numbers in the table, or 28 a more safer way. If you're not comfortable with the table, 29 it's just a drought, all your data and go from there.
