[Video] Q16: The graph of y=mx+b where m and b are constants, is shown in the xy-plane.what is the value of m?

Explanation for Question 16 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2020 March Sat

So question number 16 gives us a graph, 2 right? And we have an equation which we are going to have to fill 3 in the blanks. And it's Y equals MX plus B. 4 And you would probably recognize this as being slope intercept form. 5 So this is slope inter Sept, 6 where M is going to be your slope and B is going to be 7 your Y intercept. Um, 8 and so here's the line that corresponds to that equation. 9 And they're asking us for the value of M which is our slope, 10 right? So really they're just asking us what is the slope of this line? 11 And we can think about finding the slope visually from a graph, 12 by doing rise over run. That's probably the easiest way to do this. 13 There's also an equation for slope that you could use, but by doing rise 14 over run run, we can look at two points, 15 right? The ones that I've made larger here, 16 and we can see how much do I have to rise to get there 17 from one point to another. And I have to go up two boxes, 18 right? So in my numerator, my rise I'll keep it two. 19 And then I only have to go over one box, right? 20 So that's two over one, which shows me that our slope is two. 21 So our best answer is also going to be two.
