Explanation for Question 23 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2020 March Sat
So now we're looking at question number 23, 2 which tells us that any given figure feta is an angle. 3 And if the sign of data is the root of three over two, 4 what is the co-sign of data? So you see that we're talking about signing 5 co-sign of an angle, which is data. So immediately we're going to want to 6 think about sohcahtoa, right? 7 And so what we have here is our sign of data is route three 8 over two. So that means that the opposite of feta is going to be 9 route three and the hypotenuse is going to be two. 10 So what we're going to try to do here now is draw a triangle. 11 Right? We can see that there's kind of a triangle happening here, 12 although it's part of a circle, so let's redraw it. 13 So instead of a circle, what we actually have here is a right 14 triangle. 15 So we're going to redraw like this, actually. Now, 16 even though this doesn't look like what we have in our circle, 17 the important thing is that the angle right here, 18 our angle of theta is the same as the angle that we have right 19 here. Right? So it's actually from here to here. 20 So we'll call this data now, pictorially. 21 It doesn't have to look exactly like what you see. The important thing to 22 do is now, as we labeled this triangle, 23 right, the opposite of data should be route three. 24 So right across from feta, it would be right here, 25 right? Three and the high pot news is going to be two, 26 right? This is always, the hypotony is the one that is opposite the right 27 angle. A...
