Now we're taking a look at the second passage of this May, 2019 writing exam. 2 Um, not so ancient poetry. Let's take a look at our first question for 3 this passage. Number 12, the question is asking us which choice is most consistent 4 with the style used throughout the passage. So we want to make sure that 5 our word choice here is appropriate for the tone set up in the rest 6 of the passage itself. So here are our options. 7 Um, we see the context says in the late 17 hundreds readers across Europe 8 got a big kick out of a series of poems purportedly in by a 9 legendary Scottish poet and storyteller from the third century. 10 So got a big kick out of is maybe something you might say in 11 a conversation, but it's not quite formal enough for this, 12 um, this setting, um, 13 be, were tickled pink by not really an expression we typically see or, 14 um, here. 15 So this, this doesn't sound quite right. 16 A reader breeding that might find it a little bit jarring because it's just 17 a little bit unexpected.
