Now, although the ban against prevention professionals competing in Olympics 3 has long since been rescinded and the international Olympic committee as attempts to restore 4 the arts competition has been tapped at best. 5 So right now the sentence reads a little bit off. 6 Um, we see this dependent clause starting off the sentence. 7 Although the ban against professionals competing has been rescinded, 8 um, that's going to be a dependent clause there. 9 Um, and then we see this detail and the international Olympic committee is attempts 10 to restore. The arts competition has been tepid at best, 11 um, this and is sort of linking these two clauses together, 12 which leads us to believe that maybe there's a third clause kind of coming. 13 So this sentence feels really incomplete right now. 14 Um, we might expect it to say something like, although the ban has been 15 rescinded long ago, um, her has long since been rescinded and some 16 other detail, then we can expect a third detail, 17 um, but that's kind of missing so that the no change option doesn't quite 18 work, answer choice B an answer Tracey have sort of a similar issue, 19 both use a semi-colon. 20 However, we can only use a semi-colon when we're working with an independent clause, 21 remember to use a semi-colon you have to have an independent clause on one 22 side and on the other side.
