Explanation for Question 4 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2019 April Sat

All right. So number four says an electric company charges Rome, 2 5 cents per kilowatt, hour of energy. 3 He uses in his house. It, Jerome was charged $36 by the electric company. 4 How many kilowatt hours of energy did Jerome use? 5 So we know it is charging him 5 cents 6 per kilowatt hour, and he was charged $36 7 total. So that means 5 cents times the 8 number of kilowatt hours I'll call it. 9 X is equal to the $36 10 that he paid. So if we divide both sides by 0.05 11 X is equal to 36 divided by 0.05. 12 And you are allowed to use the calculator in this section. 13 So X is equal to seven 20, 14 which is deep.
