Explanation for Question 2 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2019 April Sat
So number two gives us the picture of this student's path and says 2 a student walks X kilometers along the straight path from point P to point 3 Q, then the student walks Y kilometers along a straight path from point queue 4 to point are what is the total distance X plus Y in kilometers that 5 the student walks. So this is useful to this question 6 since it is basically the key of this map here. 7 So for every two of these little squares that equals one kilometer. 8 So I'm going to go through and just add up the number of kilometers 9 using the grid spaces. So from here to here is one kilometer. 10 There's another one, there's one, 11 there's one there's one. And then we're left with this half of a kilometer. 12 So we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 13 kilometers plus this extra half. 14 That means that the total distance is 5.5 kilometers, 15 which is C.
