[Video] Q18: Question 18 from the math (no calc) section of 2018 march sat

Explanation for Question 18 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2018 March Sat

Question 18 asks for a function F F of negative one is equal to 2 12 and F of one is equal to 16. 3 If the graph of Y equals F of X is align in the X, 4 Y plane, what is the slope of the line? So I've gone ahead and 5 I've written out the slope formula. That's Y two minus Y one over X, 6 two minus X one, which basically states that if we know two coordinates of 7 line, we can plug the values in, 8 into this equation and that'll help us find the slope. 9 And we do have two coordinates. We know that when X is equal to 10 negative one, Y is equal to 12. 11 That's our first coordinate and that when F is equal to, 12 or when X is equal to one, Y is equal to 16. 13 So now we can plug these values in. So Y two is 16 minus 14 Y one, which is 12 over X, 15 two, one minus X one, 16 which is negative ones. That's just plus one. 17 And that gives us four over two or two as 18 the slope of this.
