Now let's go through the answers and try and figure out what is 4 the main purpose of what it's doing. And if you remember the passage that 5 we just read a moment ago, it's saying these birds, 6 they have this certain, uh, head color, 7 and they want to see if there's a difference between how these different birds, 8 these, um, Gouldian finches act versus the ones with that have the red-head color 9 restores the blackhead color. So option a says, 10 examine various strategies that are used by a bird species to defend against predatory 11 attacks. Now, this is not talking in here about this bird defending itself against 12 predatory attacks. There's was nothing in here about that. 13 So the answer choice is going to be wrong. 14 Option VSOs, draw attention to research that expands our knowledge of the behavior of 15 bird species. And this is a pretty general answer and it's part of why 16 it fits so well. This is saying that it's drawing attention. 17 It's making us recognize this research about how these different birds, 18 this bird species, this different head color is acting in their behaviors based on 19 that. So B seems to be a pretty good answer. C says emphasize the 20 important of a researcher study that considers a topic that others openly dismissed. 21 Isn't say anywhere here that others have openly dismiss this topic, 22 maybe they have maybe they haven't, but that's not what the main purpose here 23 is. Option DCIS suggests that similarities between birds and 24 others, animal behaviors are evidence of a common ancestry. 25 Now, again, it doesn't seem to be that these common behaviors are evidence of 26 common ancestry. It just says that these birds are acting a certain way. 27 And that's what this passage is saying.
