Question one says the main purpose of the passage is to what? 2 So there's a couple of things we can do here. The first one is 3 going to be to look at the first paragraph of this process, 4 which is going to introduce and kind of set up the exposition or like 5 the setting and the characters and all the information necessary to understand the story. 6 And that'll be really telling for what the story is going to be about 7 and what it's going to be centered around. So if we look at the 8 very first sentence of this passage, 9 it says one night in the summer of 1985, 10 while visiting New York, I went out to see the Mets, 11 play the Astros, and while circling the stadium with my friends, 12 looking for the gate to our seats, I saw the sweet 36 years older 13 than when I'd watched him play baseball for Ocilla. 14 So you can go through the rest of this paragraph on your own, 15 but it's kind of talking about just this like site and encounter 16 with this person that they hadn't seen in a very long time. 17 So that's kind of how the exposition of the story is set up. 18 And so that's going to tell us that this is mainly what the story 19 is going to center around. Is this citing an encounter with a person that 20 he hasn't seen a long time? So if we look at the answers for 21 question one, we can see pretty quickly that 22 that is going to mess or best match with 23 answer choice D to describe an accidental meeting that reveals 24 the narrator's relationship with the character. ...
