[Video] Q26: Question 26 from the math (calc) section of 2017 may sat

Explanation for Question 26 From the Math (Calc) Section on the 2017 May Sat

Question 26 says the table above shows the results of an experiment 2 involving the effect of two treatments, 3 a and B on plants, based on the results. 4 What fraction of the plants that thrived, 5 received treatment. A so the important part here is that last sentence 6 that says, um, what fraction of the plants that thrived street 7 received treatment a, um, 8 based on that, we're going to know what our fraction should be and how 9 we should set it up. So the first part that they give you, 10 whenever you have a question like this is going to be the denominator. 11 So the first part, what fraction of the plants that thrive to plants that 12 thrives, that's going to be the denominator. 13 The second part they give you is going to be the numerator. 14 So treatment a that's going to be the numerator. 15 So out of the plans that thrived, 16 we know we have one 20 and 60. 17 We add those up. That's 180 that goes into the denominator. 18 And then of those, which ones received treatment a we know is one 20. 19 So we have one 20 over 180, 20 and we can simplify that you can use your calculator one 20 and 180 21 are both divisible by 60. Um, 22 so we have two over three or D.
