[Video] Q8: Question 8 from the math (no calc) section of 2017 april sat

Explanation for Question 8 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2017 April Sat

Question eight asks, which of the following is the graph of the equation. 2 Y equals two X plus three in the X, 3 Y plane. So to figure out what a graph will look like based off 4 its equation, we can use the Y equals MX plus B formula, 5 which tells us that the M value in the equation is the slope. 6 And the B value is the Y intercept. 7 So in Y equals two X plus three, 8 the end value or the slope is equal to two. 9 And the B value or the Y intercept is equal to three. 10 So the first thing I'm going to do is go through all of these 11 graphs and eliminate any that don't have a Y intercept of three. 12 So first a does have a Y interceptive three B does not. 13 So I can eliminate B and C does as well as D. 14 The next thing we're going to do is find which of these has a 15 slope of two, and that's going to be our correct answer a goes up 16 to over one, which means it has a slope of two, 17 and is the correct answer.
