Explanation for Question 12 From the Math (No Calc) Section on the 2017 April Sat
Question 12 says which of the following is an equivalent form of 5, 6, 5 2 to the six, a power times K to the two or K squared, 3 uh, to the cube root where F is greater than zero and K is 4 greater than zero. Well, the first thing I'm going to do is I'm just 5 going to separate this into two different numbers. 6 So F to the sixth, a cue to the cube root times, 7 K squared to the Q group. 8 Then I'm going to rewrite these exponent. 9 I'm changing this, this root into an exponent. 10 So since X to a root, 11 let's say to the Y route is equal to X to the one over 12 Y root. I can change after the six, 13 a power to the cubed root to F to the six. 14 I power divided by three, 15 and I'm going to do the same thing to the K squared. 16 So this becomes after the sixth, I over three power times K to the 17 two thirds power. Now six a over three can be simplified to 18 F to the two a and this becomes after 19 the two, a times, K two, the two thirds power, 20 which is just answer choices.
